• Artist Statement

  I am at the center of the piece, holding my ”heart,” my ”stomch” and ”guts” spilling out, and with my ”brain” on display. Divine-looking liquid gushes and illuminates everything. This interprets the feeling I get when I can’t express my ideas, so I ”dig” deeper and deeper into myself trying to satisfy my desire to make art. My displayed brain portrays how my mind feels alive making art. The exposed insides and partial nudity shows the vulnerability of art and how it strips you of everything except your ”true self.” The gold goo spilling everywhere is creativity itself. It’s uncontainable, eternal, and has an otherworldly existence. The ripped pages falling represents the frustrating feeling art brings. The words show certain body parts through the lens of ”creativity.” The changed diagram name is a testament to humans being forms shaped by creativity. With this understanding, I am an embodiment of creativity.
