I created ”Fruits of Labor” to show how the everyday objects that we are surrounded by contain a myriad of stories, as well as connections to us humans. Every apple picked is the result of a farmer’s daily toil. Hence, it is the ”fruit” of their labor. Every apple encompasses the story of a farmer trudging across grassy fields, straining their necks and arms to reach the branches of apples trees above. However, when we consume apples, we rarely consider the struggles that farmers endured to supply this fresh produce. Thus, we should acknowledge not only the objects around us, but also the people who made their presence possible.

Creativity means that I have the freedom to make art on the topics I am interested in and toward an audience of my choosing. I hope that, through my art, I can spark a sense of curiosity in viewers, as well as invoke personal reflection.
