Entrée triomphale du K-dot à Côte Ouest

  • The piece is a front and back song cover for Kendrick Lamar’s ”Not Like Us.” It parodies Félix Louis Leullier’s ”Entrée triomphale du Christ à Jérusalem,” with imagery of West Coast hip-hop superimposed on the holy city. There is no intent to degrade Christianity or elevate Kendrick to the level of savior, he himself rejects the idea. This is only a comparison of two idols and their homecoming crowds, one celebrating triumph over sin and the other celebrating triumph over Drake.

  • Creativity means using one’s own imagination and means to bring something into fruition that innovates on the work of themselves or someone else. Often the best creations result from a process of excitement, frustration, solution, and re-excitement.
