The Common Vampire Bat

Jair S.

Linoleum, Lino cutter

  • I’ve always been fascinated by bats, there are so many in the world and they all look so different, the vampire bats and the fruit bats. When traveling abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico I learned that Xilografía or woodcut is a type of printing where you cut into wood then print the art piece out on a paper using a press. I fell in love with this medium and after the trip I bought linoleum and made my third print., The common vampire bat. The size is 12 x 12 inches.

  • Creativity means the power to think about such unique and obscure things and having the power to make those ideas into a reality which I do through art.
