• Artist Statement

  When I began creating this piece, my goal was to use simple colors and outlines to capture the very complex and intricate landscape of New York City. Little did I know that achieving this would take hundreds of layers and cutouts. I chose not to fill out every window, face, and tiny detail of the picture of the City I was using. I believe not including these elements leaves more room for interpretation. I made the buildings, I’ll leave it to the viewers to fill in the cracks, each in their own way. Accompanied with a sunset, this is the city, through my eyes.
