One day, a few weeks after school started, my friends and I were hanging out when someone brought up the idea of a dance competition. We had recently been bonding over our shared joy of dance, and what better way to experience it? We split up into teams, set a timer, and scrambled to pick a song to choreograph to. This game became a routine during our hangouts, one that provided a lot of laughter and gave some of our more introverted friends the opportunity to come out of their shell and learn to love to dance. For the art award competition, we chose to perform one of our most fun dances. None of us are formally trained, but just love to dance.

Creativity means connection to me. It means the ability to find things that bring joy and share them with others. To me, creativity means bonding, and new experiences with new people. It is being able to express myself through my body and by strengthening both my soul and my body.
