A Clouded Perception

  • I feel that many adolescents are especially hard on themselves. As young, growing minds, we face many mental blocks that can come from our own fears or insecurities which are amplified by societal pressures and expectations. I wanted to portray that with symbols of shapes. The cloud is extremely confused and worried when it looks at the other shape characters, viewing them as perfect shapes that know exactly what they are. However, when examined closely, none of the seemingly better shapes are truly perfect, it is all an illusion rooted in the cloud's insecurity. The cloud is just as amazing as the other shapes, it simply needs to appreciate and love itself.

  • Creativity is outlet to express and explore ideas that I am interested in or passionate about. It is cathartic and challenging to find ways to convey intentions without words.
