Simba

  • Simba is my handsome and protective German Shepherd and while he is rather naughty, I do love him with all my heart. He has a lusciously soft coat of fur, irresistible puppy eyes, perky ears, a mischievous smile, and a confident stance. I adore this photo because as an artist I love the vibrant colors of a sunset and I paint them in almost all of my landscape artworks and my camera roll is full of pictures of sunsets around the world. I love this picture because it captures both the essence of the sky and my handsome dog. Even though some may think that the standing and folded chairs, and the mesh door standing on the far side of my backyard preventing my dog from trampling over our plants and/or injuring himself detract and distract from the image. I feel as if these features bring reality into this image because if I had taken them out the picture would have had something missing as this was just a picture from a simple, chilly day in my backyard as I was playing with my dog.

  • Times get tough and I use art as a way to express the inner emotions that I don't want to show or feel guilty to express to another peer. Whether dancing or drawing I can always channel my feelings into something beautiful using it as a way to vent.
