Shattered Clock

In this self portrait, I conveyed my inner emotions and thoughts of uncertainty. I've always felt like time was going by faster than I could process and this only led to my soul slowly shattering as I wasn't able to stay on the same level as my friends. In a world of color, I've felt alone in the shadows as the days pass by, knowing nothing I try to accomplish will allow myself to finally grasp what's going on around me. I worry when I finally figure my life out, time will have gone by too fast and I'd already run out of time.
Additionally, I was able to create this piece by thinking about songs I've been resenting and why it was. The songs that inspired this piece were "Dissolve" by Joji, "Humpty" by Mitski, and ""This Could Build Us a Home"" by The Garden. In order to relate to "Dissolve", I used red smoke to represent dissolving as mentioned in the song. For "Humpty", I used cracks in the skin to represent that no matter what I could try to piece back together, it'll end up falling about in the end as mentioned in the song. Lastly, to represent "This Could Build Us a Home" I used the clock and the contrasting rainbow in the background to show that time is running out and I need to try to run from it. With these songs, it created the piece I call "Shattered Clock".

Exploring and expressing creativity impacts my life by shedding light onto emotions I or others may feel. I use creativity to illustrate both writing and art to show world-wide issues such as mental health issues and world issues. Expressing creativity impacts my life by showing everyone struggles.
