  • META is the beginning of a screenplay I started as my humble love letter to fantasy, trope and humanity. It was borne from my desire to tell a story about a character escaping her fate as the "woman in the fridge," a trope in which people (usually women) die for the sake of male character development. I wanted to explore a world in which tropes and story mechanics were diegetic, which led me to the unexpected path of magic and gods as a scifi conspiracy. I started it as a comic, little doodles here and there, but when I realized I wanted to flesh it out further I turned to screenplays, a new medium for me but one which called to me for the ability to direct the flow of images in my head and onto the page.

  • I could not live without it. It's in the stories I tell in my head and on the page and out in life's mundanities. It's standing in line at the grocery and wondering what stories the untouched packs of gum and gift cards would tell, or the colors which inspire me to create and express myself.
