Cellar Door

I found this image to be extremely appropriate to the environment captured it in. It was an overcast morning just after a night a heavy rainfall, when I stumbled across an old and overgrown cellar door around the side of a former house, repurposed as a school building. While the old cellar was surely used for storage, it held the eerie and mysterious energy that day's weather carried with it. I kept the door in the lower third of the image, with the vines hanging down from above it, as if I was anticipating something jumping out from the cellar.

A photograph can capture a moment in time, but also a story, or an emotion. By expressing these feelings with an image, you can make its audience feel those same emotions, which I believe is an extremely profound ability, one that requires creative expression.
