• Artist Statement

  I love to draw and paint from life and observe the tiny details that make something feel real and tangible. I like to trick myself into drawing what is actually there instead of what I think I see, especially in finding shadows and patterns. In this piece, I really enjoyed finding the shadows that the phone casts and how the shadow takes on a life of its own.
