A Warm Embrace

This piece represents the emotion and feeling that comes when I hug my mother. The purple forms that are overlapping each other, are non-objective versions of us that are hugging each other. Different forms represent different body parts and how they play into the interaction of a hug. The warm, yellow gradation surrounding the purple forms, represents the physical and mental warmth that comes from a tender hug. The warm light is chasing the blue, saddened background away, since her hugs can bring comfort when I’m emotionally distressed and anxious.

Creativity to me means being able to use your interests and experiences to create a new, meaningful piece of art. For me, I get a lot of my creativity from the cat rescue I volunteer at. The shelter takes in cats with disabilities and has inspired many of my pieces.
