The Calm of Isolation

  • For this artwork, I explored one of the many scenes that I Imagine with my original character named Konn. I often see him standing in a body of water, in complete isolation. In this scene I wanted to capture the calm of being alone, and the sort of freezing cold chill that it can bring you. This piece of art is special to me since it was the first time I utilized photobashing to generate ideas for the final design. Although they are not visible in the finished product, the reference photos were very helpful in determining the composition and color scheme. It also serves as proof of one of the rare occasions where I was able to precisely capture a picture that I could only see in my head, and for that I'm proud of it.

  • It's a well of desire that you draw from for inspiration. It's the ability to give your own spin on the hardships in your life. It is a skill that I will continue to nurture as an artist, not only for art's sake, but for my own sanity as well.
