• Artist Statement

  Studying Korean traditional art through an Asian art history class, I particularly fell in love with its key principles, such as emphasis on how well intentions are expressed, the use of intensity control, and the beauty of negative space. Using traditional Korean ink, I created a figurative painting that plays around its peculiar bleeding effects and bold visuals, further exploring the beauty of Korean art.
