I attempted to create an unconventional shape with this work by rounding the edges and forcing a more curved side to this piece. As a luminary, I also cut out differing shapes into each side of my piece to offer space for light to shine through them should a candle or other light source be placed inside. The top was cut horizontally so that it could be easily removed and I added a lined pattern on the outside. The whole thing was later glazed with various colors including the inside.
