• Artist Statement

  I was originally taking a photo of some bikes and turned around and there was a leaf stuck in the fence. I decided to take a photo of the leaf because I liked the way the yellow leaf stood out against the red fence. I also liked the line running through the photo trapping the leaf. Another quality about the photo is how the leaf is in the center so it draws the viewer's attention to the main subject. In the photo the leaf and a bit of the fence are in focus while the gaps in the fence and the edges are blurry. The leaf looks dry and brittle yet it is unbroken as it is wedged in the fence.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity means individuality because being creative is working off other people's projects and ideas to create something new and original. Creativity can come in many forms and mediums. My preferred way of expressing myself by taking photos.
