Promotion: The Creative Youth Celebration (the “Celebration 2020”) is sponsored by the Bay Area Creative Foundation (BACF). The Celebration starts at 12:01:01 AM PST on Sept. 1, 2020 and ends at 11:59:59 PM on Dec. 8, 2020 (“Celebration Entry Period.”)

Who may enter: Celebration 2020 is open only to high school students residing in Marin County, California and surrounding counties. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor, its creative agencies and members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings and children) or households are not eligible to participate. Celebration 2020 is subject to all applicable U.S. federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.

Requirements of Entries: By submitting an Entry you agree that it conforms to the guidelines and content restrictions below and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify your Entry from the Celebration 2020 if it believes it fails to conform. Your Entry must comply with the following and by entering, you represent and warrant and agree that:

Your Artwork Entry is created by you and is not copied from any other copyrighted work and do not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

Your Video/Photo only depicts the Artwork created by you.

Your Video/Photo does not depict any recognizable person for whom you have not received permission to enter in Celebration 2020 and does not infringe upon the publicity rights of any third party and you have received prior permission/consent to use the Video/Photo from anyone who has any rights to the Video/Photo.

Your Entry must not disparage Sponsor, or any other person or party affiliated with the Celebration 2020.

Your Entry must not contain material that Sponsor deems to be inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous.

Your Entry must not contain material that Sponsor deems to promote bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or to promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.

The Entry must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to any applicable laws or regulations.

License: Entrants retain ownership of the Entry they submit, however, by entering you grant Sponsor and any organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Celebration 2020, the perpetual, fully-paid, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to reproduce, prepare derivate works of, distribute, display, exhibit, transmit, broadcast, televise, digitize, otherwise use, and permit others to use and perform throughout the world the Entry, in whole or in part, in any manner, form, or format now or hereinafter created, including on the internet, and for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising or promotion of Sponsor and the Celebration 2020 all without further consent from or payment to you or any persons. The Entries may be published and posted online, but you agree that Sponsor has no obligation to post or publish your Entry, that all such postings or publication, if any, will be in Sponsor’s sole discretion and that the posting or publication of an Entry does not guarantee the Entry is a winner.

You will hold harmless Celebration 2020 Entities, and their respective officers, directors, employees, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, from any claim by any third party relating to any rights in the Entry.

Privacy: All information submitted by you as part of Celebration 2020 will be treated in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. By participating in this Contest, Entrants acknowledge and agree that all information and material, including any personal information provided in your Entry materials, will be shared with Sponsor’s agents, representatives, and other third parties involved in the execution, administration, or hosting of this Contest, and may be further publicized as described above as permitted by law.

Program details

  • The BACF is partnering with Marin County high schools to identify, encourage and celebrate individuals and/or groups of students interested in displaying their creative talents.
  • Participating students will retain the copyright of the artistic compositions; BACF will only use the artwork to promote the Creative Youth Celebration program.
  • The BACF will cover all operational costs and prizes. Schools will be asked to announce the program and to distribute promotional communications provided by the BACF.
  • More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded with multiple honors in each artistic category.


  • Submission period: August through Dec. 8, 2020
  • Prize winners notified – January 2021
  • Awards ceremony celebration – February 2021


Submission details

  • The 2020 Creative Youth Celebration is open to Marin County and surrounding area high school students, ages 14-19 years old.
  • Students are asked to submit original photos, videos, recordings, or other electronic files that represent their unique expression of creativity.
  • Students may enter in more than one category with a maximum of two entries per student per category.
  • Submissions may be done by individuals or small groups (up to three students) with the exception of the Music Performance and Short-Film categories where there is no limit to the number of participants. (Note, each participant must be 14-19 years of age.)
  • Each submission must be uploaded individually. File size for upload will be restricted to 100 MB.
  • Total submissions will be limited to 100 entries per artistic discipline.

Judging & Selection of Winners

  • A panel of judges will evaluate the submissions based on a point scale with established criteria. The judges are looking for inspirational, creative, original art.
  • These evaluation criteria are currently in development and will be announced soon.
