This image illustrates the manner in which time serves as a unifying force between humans and nature using the multiple exposure technique. This photograph is composed of two separate images which were edited into a single frame, one of which included a clock adorned with autumn leaves and acorns. The second element includes a single landscape which was edited to represent all four seasons simultaneously. This landscape was then melded with the clock face to reflect the passage of time, as the season of Spring is represented by the earliest hours which precede those symbolizing Summer. The season of Fall is reflected by the hours of the late afternoon and evening, while Winter is represented by the hours of night. As humans record and anticipate the passage of time and components of the natural world must adapt to survive the passage of the seasons, the combination of the clock and the landscape represents time as a unifying force between nature and humans.
