I began writing Hear Me when I was 11 years old, and I finally finished perfecting it this year. This song is about my relationship with my grandpa, and his with alcohol. Growing up I looked up to and idolized him. However, when he started drinking more and more, that image of him began to crumble, and it still does to this day. I always had a very close bond with my grandpa, and I was trying to find a way to tell him how scared I was for him. When I finally gathered the courage to do so, he shut me down and said that everything was fine. In turn, I wrote the lyrics to Hear Me. In this song I write about how I want him to listen to what I am telling him and how he said that everything was okay; but we both knew that was not true.
